I had high hopes for this place. Their website was well maintained, there were reasonably good reviews on rating sites and everything about them just seemed genuine and classy at the same time. But what a letdown! I went for a hair spa in YLG, Cunningham Road.
It was my first visit and there was no'skin and hair analysis', which they oh-so-proudly boast of in all their marketing gimmicks. A very naive-looking salon girl directly took me inside and started putting together the stuff for the hair spa. So I asked her'Do you know what spa I need?' and she looked back blankly at me so I asked for a list of hair spas they have so that I can pick the appropriate one.
After I got the list I asked her to explain to me what each spa does hair and her reply was'go for this one madam it is the best' - pointing to the most expensive one in the list. Well duh. Just to test her I pointed to the least expensive one and asked'what about this one?
I am interested in this one. It is an intensive oil spa and I have dry hair'. Her reply was' no madam we dont have that one. You can go for this one it is the best' - again pointing to the most expensive one. Understanding that she was not going to budge from that one I asked her' so what does that do to my hair, like its benefits?' and her reply was'it moisturizes ma'am'. I gave up.
This was a helpless girl who had no knowledge of what to do to what type of hair and I was not going to waste my money or time on a spa from her nor was I going to entrust my hair in her hands. So I just opted to have my hair trimmed. Just the very ends of my hair cut-off - you know what trimming is. They charged about 850 for that. I learnt a very expensive lesson - never to go back to that place! No complaints about the hair cut, though. But I've had better hair wash+ hair cuts for a fraction of that price.
It is a very ordinary salon with fancy interiors and a lot of investment done on marketing, nothing else. The staff is polite but so are those in almost all salons these days.
