I visited Xtreme sports bar at Indiranagar for the first time on Sunday. We wanted to play pool and since there was only one pool table we were waiting for our turn. There was one table available near the pool table but it had some bags kept and no people sitting. I requested the waiter if we could be seated there and I was told that the table was occupied. Even after half an hour of just standing there no one came to the table. The waiter was just not concerned.
I asked again and I was told there is another table at the other corner and they will call us once the pool table was available. We believed then and sat at that table. We ordered some drinks and snacks but no one called us though we noticed the pool table being occupied by various other people. Finally we carried our drinks and went and stood near the pool table again. This time there were no bags nor people on that table. I left my handbag at the table along with our drinks.
We finally got the pool table and started playing. All of a sudden two guys totally drunk came and started watching us play. They put their hand over my friend and were blocking the limited space available. I asked them to move but they refused and were so sloshed that they kept staring and smiling at me like they have never seen a girl before. As soon as they left I saw the manager( a bald headed guy with a french beard) and asked him if they had bouncers. He asked me why and when I told him these 2 guys were troubling us, he said " Till they mis-behave with you there is no need to inform me, let me know once they mis-behave".
I was shocked and told me if they mis-behaved I could handle them myself and did not require his help. The very next moment he said is that your bag at the table and I said yes. He said take it out and I asked where am I supposed to leave it and he said leave is anywhere else I have to give this table to someone else. I was shocked as I have been requesting this table past 1 and 1/2 hrs now. After some people came and occupied the table he then asks me( in less than 5 mins) after this game you need to release the pool table as someone else has booked it. By then I lost it and told him " I'm a customer as well. I pay for the service and I am not drinking or eating or even playing pool for free.
What happened to my booking, its gone on deaf ears? After waiting for 1 and 1/2 hrs you come and ask me to release the table when I was just playing my first game? How ridiculous. The manager did not even have the courtesy to apologize. I have spent 20 yrs of my life in Bangalore and have been a frequent customer at Pubs and lounges but never ever once have experienced such bad service.It was very clear that these people only served drunkards and did not care about safety of anyone else especially women!
Pubs that do not ensure safety to customers should be banned from providing service as to run your place successfully you should first be "customer oriented". If you do not have the basic etiquette of customer service run a road side bar where you can cater to un-educated clientele. My advice to anyone who plans on visiting this place "Don't waste your time and money"
There are 100 places better than this where you can get value for money in terms of service and come out smiling to go back there again.
