No significant change from old Redmi Note except 2 SIMs and probably Made in India tag.
UI is difficult to understand and sometimes one has to struggle to understand how to do simple tasks. Haven't been able to understand even after 3 days of usage as to whether we can shift some apps to SD card or not! So, plenty of features(including setting up permissions for individual apps) but takes a long time to understand most of these features.
Hardware-wise its ok - users get around 1.2 GB of RAM free(apart from the RAM taken by OS and other tasks). Internal storage - user gets around 11.5 GB free(apart from the space taken up by OS and other pre-installed apps). Battery life has been good so far. Camera quality is nothing great. My Moto-G with lesser megapixels clicks better pictures.
Buying from Amazon, one loses out on certain advantages - like a low cost phone insurance, free cover etc. These things can be availed only when one buys directly from Mi.com. Amazon must negotiate with Xiaomi to make these goodies available for even Amazon Buyers. Delivery was fast - ordered on 15th morning and received the phone 24 hrs later, without paying any extra charges. Don't understand why headset is not included as part of the package.
