I am reporting problems associated with my Redmi Note 8 Pro (6GB+128GB, purchased on 21-1-2020, delivered on 23-1-2020).


Problem No. 1 (With GPS)-


I am using various Mi bands for morning walk/health tracking since 2015 with Mi fit without any problem. Recently I purchased Redmi Note 8 pro and installed mi fit on that. Now on walking, mi fit (Firmware version 2.4.0.32, App Version 4.0.15, Algorithm 1.1.14) using Mi Band 3/Mi band 2 is working abruptly. Generally I take 3-4 rounds of park of 700m circumference in morning. Instead of showing correct path which is almost circular, it displays triangular route with straight lines & wrong data. Same Mi band 3 ( and Mi band 2 also) is working fine with same settings in other mobiles like Redmi 6A, Redmi K20 Pro, Redmi Note 6 Pro. GPS signal strength is very good in our area.


I reinstalled mi fit, reset mi band 3 to factory condition & even formatted my mobile, but nothing happened to resolve this.


Before 2 days I walked with 2 Bands, Mi band 2 paired with Redmi Note 8 Pro and Mi band 3 in Redmi 6A. This time again same problem occurred. Redmi Note 8 Pro gave wrong path while Redmi 6A shows correct path. It proves that there is GPS problem with Redmi Note 8 Pro and not with Mi Bands/Mi Fit app.


Problem No. 2 (With Quick Charge)-


Redmi note 8 pro 6GB, 128GB is supplied with 3A charger that supports Quick Charge. When I charge it, screen shows Quick charge with its logo. Although it is 3A charger, but it takes more than 25% time to full charge in comparison with 2A charger of Redmi note 6 pro.


Third party app like Ampere is also showing that 3A charger is supplying near about 1400mA while 2A charger is providing more than 1650 mA with same cable. Both chargers are used with ORIGINAL MI CABLES.Why this is occuring? 3A charger should charge more quickly than 2A charger.


Steps followed to resolve these problems -


I restored Redmi Note 8 Pro in Factory condition 3 times, but got no resolution of either GPS problem and Charging Problem. First time, I only installed Mi Fit App as extra, second time with some other apps and third time again with only Mi Fit app was installed. Please not my 2 colleagues have also purchased Redmi Note 8 Pro and they are also facing same problems. Since they are using two handsets, therefore not suffering too much. But I, who is using only this handset is seriously suffering.


Last week, I visited Mi service center where they could not find any solution of this. They told to raise problems again with Xiaomi,


My work is seriously suffering. I think Redmi Note 8 Pro mobiles have manufacturing defects. For the purposes I purchased this mobile is not fulfilling and I am getting mental distress also.


Finally I do not recommend any one to purchase this mobile.
