After much of a wait, finally Xiaomi launched the successor to its widely popular and most sold budget beast in india(ie. Redmi note 3) that possessed a snapdragon 650 Soc which is technically more powerful than the snapdragon 625 Soc used in Redmi note 4. So is it a upgrade or a downgrade you may ask? lets find out below
Display:
the display on the RN4 is a 1080p panel with 2.5D curved glass that merges into well into the metal body.
Design and built Quality:
this device is a all metal built device with premium looks and feel in hand and the curves at back helps in grip of the device
processor:
RN4 uses snapdragon 625 over snapdragon 650 used by RN3. Although it is technically a weak processor than 650 on paper but there is no performance difference b/w the two deivces on day to day tasks as the 625 uses 14nm Finfet technology but where this processor shines is the battery performance.Yes its is very power efficient processor that also means the less heating, so thats a good upgrade.
Camera:
Now although xiaomi said that they improved the camera but truely speaking we really can't expect great results by camera in this budget, its definitely an improvement over RN3 in daylight shots but night/artificial lighting shots are nearly the same with lot of noise.
Finally, If you own a RN3 and are happy with its battery and some heating issues you better wait for some other device, and if you want a new phone this year with best value for money in this budget its the best!
