I have been using Xiaomi Redmi 1s for the past one and a half year and I have found that it is one of the best smartphone anyone can find for the price range. Everything this phone has got comes in a phone worth a lot higher price then Redmi 1s. It initially had problems like heating issues, camera app closing on itself and minor other issues but with the update that company provided a while ago these issues have long gone.
I really like a lot of features of the Redmi 1s that I would like to post and even compare it with Redmi 2 prime that my Dad got about a month ago.
Camera: The camera takes high quality pics with 8mp rear camera and 1.6 MP front camera.
I personally feel that redmi 1s has got a better rear camera as compared to redmi 2 prime. But if you are a selfie person you must go for Redmi 2 as it has got way better pic quality with front camera.
Speaker and sound: The speaker and sound quality of both the phones is clear and loud. I don't feel any kind of distortion. However redmi 2 prime has got a lot powerful speaker and sound quality is much more better then redmi 1s.
Battery: Battery can last a full day long if used for calls and other minor things. However with the net/ gaming on, battery may last for 4-5 hours. Battery of redmi 2 prime is batter than redmi 1s and if lasts a little longer.
Durability: I can only review the durability of redmi 1s with surity as I have been using it for one and a half year and it has fallen off many a times but there have only been minor damage to the back and side of the phone. I cannot say for redmi 2 with surity, but it uses screen which is same or higher quality so there should not be any problem regarding that.
Memory: Memory is one of the things that bothers me a bit. It is 8 GB internal memory for redmi 1s for which u get about 6.2 GB actual internal memory which is a bit of a problem for me because I play a lot of games on my mobile phon and with this much memory u can only install one or two huge games at a time with othr important apps. But with this price no one can complain also.
Redmi 2 prime comes with a internal memory of 16 GB for which you get about 14 GB. It also comes with a ram of 2 GB as compared to 1s which comes with 1 GB RAM. If u are a hardcore gamer u should definitely go for redmi 2 prime.
What I don't really like about the xiaomi phones is that they take a lot of time sending updates for your phone. I have these two xiaomi handsets and both run on Android KitKat and I really wish that the company atleast send the update for lolipop.
That's why giving it four stars otherwise great phones both of these.
