The phone does look good, the finish and quality of plastic is really good for the price. Display is great for the price. The down side is: 1.Heats up like hell. 2. battery drains very fast half a day only. 3.the most irritating part is the PC Suite is in chinese!.4. Call voice quality is very poor even after adjusting it to max vol! Lot of mobile geeks give some vague solutions on MIUI web site which is good for nothing!
One serious advise if you are not a mobile geek and have lot of time and patience don't buy this phone. Xiaomi needs to give a official software upgrade to this phone otherwise its useless. the next version redmi 2 is a real good phone all the short comings of redmi 1s is taken care off! I own 2 redmi 2 and 1 redmi 1s. Believe me I spent quite some time in upgrading software of redmi1s to miui 6, which is really very tricky.
Bottom line if u r so much interested to buy a xiaomi pls go for redmi 2 which is of 64 bit and comes with pre installed miui 6 software( which takes care of heating issue as well as battery lasts a whole day. also fast charging).
