Fantastic build quality and awesome interface
Earlier to it, I have already used MI 4 and was very satisfied with the performance of the phone. The company Xiaomi, in my opinion does not compromise with the quality of the product and it is improving model after model. With the lower specifications then MI4, the overall performance of Mi4i is good enough. Broad specifications are very attractive as it is 5" display, 2GB RAM, 16 GB internal memory(Not expandable) with 13 MP rear camera(dual LED flash), 3120 mAh non removable battery. It is running on MIUI 6 with android lollipop 5.02. As soon as I started the phone, there was an update of 850 MB. After update, the overall interface and feel of the phone beautifully changed.
The box packaging is Xiaomi standard and I received the box damaged being looks like it is pressed under some heavy weight but thank god that the phone was safe inside the box. Apart from the device, the box contains one quick charger and one USB cable. A standard sim removal pin is also provided in between the paper work. The built quality is awesome and only having two physical buttons, one for power on/off and another is volume rocker on the right side. The device contains back mono speaker and the micro dual sim compartment is at the left side of the device. Top of the device contains 3.5 mm jack and bottom of the device contains micro USB port and main microphone. The back of the device is equipped with a 13 megapixel camera dual LED flash. The back of the device is non removable unibody covered with sophisticated awesome plastic. Even after plastic back, the device gives a premium feel. It may be easily observed that the design is inspired by iphone 5C. I have chosen white colour but still the front of the device is black on the screen corner portions.
As soon as I power on the device, mi logo illuminated and carries to the world of MIUI 6 with lollipop. Look and feel of the MIUI is at a class of its own and gives a feel of iOS.
Brightness of the phone is very good and the system does not lag on any operation of the phone. The 13MP camera is not providing quality photos up to the level of my expectations. In the day light the quality of the photos are good but in artificial light or flash light it is not up to the mark. The front camera is 5 MP but I found picture quality of front camera very good in comparison to the rear camera.
The phone is having weight of 130 gms even after 3120 mAh battery which is quite comfortable. The battery last for 24 hrs. in a moderate usage of the phone. Still with all the prose and cones of the phone, I would like to state here that it is a value for money at this price point of Rs. 13K.
