After a very long time, I am posting product review of this MI4I phone which I have been using for over three months now.
I am avoiding describing the technical features here since they are already available on the MI site and also on the renowned shopping sites.
I will summarize the features and the ratings out of 10 as per my user assessment and experience:
DISPLAY and FORM FACTOR: This phone has a full HD display resolution of 1920*1080 and image pixels of 441 ppi, the result of which is simply stunning and rich. You will simply fall in love with its rich colours and choice of awesome colour themes. Phone looks very good, compact and attractive in size and design. Rating: 10/10
PROCESSOR: The 1.7 GHZ processor with built in 2 GB ram does not lag and is brisk in browsing and accessing of internet. It works in tandem with Android lollipop and MIUI Global interface. The user interface is quite user friendly. 9/10
CAMERA: The camera rear camera of 13 MP and front one of 5 MP is a major strong area of this phone. The rear camera pics with HDR and other adjustment options are so clear and good that you will never feel the need to take a separate camera with you when on a tour. 9/10
STORAGE: The phone offers an inbuilt storage of 12.77 GB after system installed Apps. There is no slot for an extended memory SD card but you can avail the option of OTG facility. I keep a compact OTG connector with built in pendrive with me to which I move the photos and other information which I can move out of the phone space. This helps in having the phone free to speed up on processing on the Apps and keeps the phone space free of clutter. 8/10
MUSIC: The quality of music in the phone through the headphone is awesome. I purchased the music app “PLAYERPRO’ from Google play store for Rs.75/- which has added to the quality of my music experience. I have Seinheisser CX180 for music and a spare Samsung one for calling and handsfree purpose. There is no earphone provided in the box and you would need to buy a compatible one from the market. The quality of audio is excellent in the earphones but needs refinement on the external speakers. Hence, I am not fully satisfied with quality of the audio due to the quality of sound from external speaker. not being that great. 7/10
DUAL SIM: The phone has a 4G Dual Sim slot. Both slots are compatible for 4G. The Sim try is like the Iphone type which needs to be removed with the help of a needle pin provided in the box. If you are not familiar with the type of slot you can take the help of someone or view the demo on YouTube. 9/10
BATTERY: The longevity of the battery life is another strength of this phone. The battery is of 3100 MAH and is non removable. Under normal use of calling of browsing it lasts for two days and with just calling and music it lasts 4 days. I am not a gamer hence I cannot comment from that perspective. The back cover and battery cover can only be removed by the service centre technicians, again a feature like Iphone. 9/10
OVERALL EXPERIENCE: The phone looks and feels good, sports a good camera, has fairly good audio, excellent call clarity. Overall rating I can comfortably give as 9/10.
