I have been writing for more than 8 years. I have written for newspapers, magazines, websites, Radio, Television and even for calendars too. I have also had experience of some?Ghost Writing?. I like to share my feeling and experience.
Why write?
This is the first thing you should ask yourself. It?s not only about writing in Mouthshut(MS) but also anywhere you write; don?t forget to ask this question. As for me I write because I have the dream to be a fully professional writer someday. You don?t need to have the same motivation but it is better that you know the reason why you want to write. If you like to write for fun or enjoyment then try to take writing as fun. If you like to practice and improve your writing skill then do not forget to allot more time, attention and energy for it. However, if you do not enjoy it do not write.
Write easily
First of all do not get nervous while writing. It is not the end of the world and what you have to remember is that not everyone write in the same way. Try to read your writing from a reader?s ping of view. Try to imagine yourself as a reader and ask yourself what type of information or analysis you like to see on the topic. If you like you can talk to some other people about it too. Never try to burden the reader with difficult words. Many of us have the tendency to get self-satisfaction by using very large, uncommon and difficult words. Please try to remember that among your readers there are all kinds of people who come from different background. In MouthShut all the reviews are written in English language which is not the mother tongue of most of its members. So, if you use too many difficult words then naturally a large section of members would not be able to enjoy your review. All of us whether paid or not write for others to read not for ourselves. So, we should always try to reach maximum number of people. Do not worry about your grammar and spelling. Writing for Mouthshut is not similar to sitting in the exam of an English language course. Here the readers are not interested abut your grammar skills rather they want to hear your opinion about a particular product or a topic. After writing your review do not forget to allocate some time for revision and editing.
Write from your heart
Yes it is true that we write for others to read. However at the same time we should not forget that others want to know what we feel about a particular topic. So, you do not need to always agree with others or even with great writers or philosophers because these writers and philosophers always practiced the idea of disagreeing with others or introducing a new idea. At least they always believed in writing from their heart. So, do not waste any time and start writing.
