This a review based on Five best reviewers – If you are wondering why this review is posted here, the reason is that the correct link was not working.
Some men are born great
Some acquire greatness
Some have greatness thrust upon them
At Mouthshut however
All writers are born great
Some greatness is thrust upon them by fellow Msians
And some acquire greatness thrust upon them (by MS administration).
Now what is Shakespeare bhai doing in here? He should know he’s got !Kampetetion! in here and that his chances of emerging successful are really low. Even then if he intends to plug in – to be ultimately literally bashed- he is most welcome. At Mouthshut everyone is a Shakespeare and can write. The levels obviously differ.
To be informed is bliss while ignorance is a plague that kills for the lack of information. At MS every reviewer is so very informed. The consumers here are expert decision makers and at the same time great writers. But most here write for fun.
Everyday new members come and go. Some stay for a while and there are some for whom the chance discovery becomes an outlet for exploring their latent literary skills. Whatever the reason Mouthshut is a fun place to be - To write, build camaraderie, chill out, flex your literary muscles, and above all to simply pass time. (total timepass zone). Even if one does not write reviews there is so much else to be do, viz, write comments, read reviews, hurl abuses, pretend to be a critic, make friends (which leads to a date between opposite sexes), etc., etc.
The MS community is large and one of a kind. Here members from every nook and korner of the globe make their presence felt. This itself is a wonderful information. Writers here try to stay alive by writing humorous, satirical, serious or simply different reviews. Whatever the method only a handful; regulars read and comment the reviews. Though many reviewers join MS everyday only a few stay back. Those who continue writing do so with the objective of having fun. Not a bad idea after all. Life is about having fun.
I know not many reviewers on MS. I simply come and go. Sometimes I read reviews in so much haste that the next moment I am not sure who the heck was the reviewer. But in this process the popular ones (members) are the ones I tend to remember. Especially those write with alarming frequency. Rajeev, Sneha, Sujata, Diver, Jaya, Lyla are some such names.
In my opinion the best reviewers are those who write on Fridays. The first reaction is always the best. So as soon as a movie is released, some MS veterans watch it and upload their honest opinion the very first day. I wonder what do they derive? Certainly the pleasure of expressing and sharing their opinion. Then there are those who write reviews on newly launched products. For example recently lot many members uploaded reviews on SWIFT. The reviews on Swift were uploaded as swiftly as the car itself. Also Honda Unicorn is another case in light. These are the best reviewers.
A myth lurks on MS that popular reviewers are the best. Those who are popular are not necessarily the best writers. Actually writing and reviewing are tow different arts. Another myth that exists is related to starwriters. Earlier my views were limited but now I seriously believe that the concept of SW is a little biased. It is more or less based on ‘how good is your picure?’ If u gotta good face, Congratulations, Sooner or later your pretty picture will be hung up there on the home page. Thanks to the MS administration. I do not blame them, after all they gotta sell their site.
Some of the good reviewers are those who possess subject expertise.
MNC123 – He is an auto expert. His reviews on cars are really good.
Diver – Technology expert
Mbfarook – Reviews are well researched
Zuludancing – Highly informed and researched reviews
Artsed – Good writing skills
Somakaramjee, Raageshwari, Putush and Sneha– Our food expert
Lyla – Travel expert
Rajeev, Pushan. And Gia – Band baaja expert
MY 5 favorite reviewers are
Chimera – When it comes to book reviews I find her good. Also I find her a just critic.
Sneha – She is young and writes quickly. Her restaurant reviews are helpful
Afrank – She is a versatile writer and reviewer. She is popular and simply outstanding. Her skills lie in writing.
Rajeev – He is a real band baaja guy. I can trust him any time for musical information. Also who else can think of writing a review on Nappies. With no strings attached this dude writes to express and have loads of fun.
Nikkamma – Raj is young and informed. He writes simply dil se. This is why his reviews are funny, twisted, long and good.
There are so many names that do not cross my mind now. Again that’s because he popular ones stay back.
