If you want to go through a hell when you are relocating from one city to another chose Writer Relocations. Their sales and marketing department is full of crooks.
It all started with one fateful day in my life when I came across their name on the internet. I wanted transport all my house from Hyderabad to Pune. This included a Car. I invited 5/6 packers and movers along with Writer folks. They did the survey and noted down all the details of the move. The survey list included car. I got a quotation from them which stood at Rs 54k. This was the most expensive quotation I had received.
I went back to them telling that their nearest competitor is offering me the price of Rs. 46k for the same move. Do you have any discounts? Pat came the second quotation. It was Rs. 46k now. Since I was working with a very big American software company they told me that they are willing to walk extra mile to get a good referral in my company. I said fine. If at the same price I'm going to be treated better by these guys for some or the other reason let me try them this time. I had previously used services of two Packers and Movers and was satisfied with both of them, including the other provider who had quoted Rs. 46k. But, vinash kale viparit buddhi. I chose Writers.
On the day of packing they arrive on time and started their work. Towards the end of it I enquired them if I had to remove anything from my car before they take it in their custody. The supervisor gave me a shocked look and said there is no Car to be moved as per the instruction he received. Now it was my turn to get baffled. I frantically called their move cordinator and asked them to check the survey list. After one hours of frantic phone calls they told me that they can't find the survey list as the aXXhole who had come to make the survey had gone to Dubai without handing over the survey list.
I said you must move the car as I had mentioned that in the survey and had trusted that the quotation was for the whole thing(the quotation didn't enumerate any details and had only reference to the survey list). They said if I'm willing to pay Rs. 11500 immediately as additional cost for car move they will not move it.
One can imagine my situation. I had 3 hours to leave the city with family. All my household was packed and sent in the truck. I'm in an empty house with family desperately trying to get out of this situation and these folks are forcing me to cough up another 11.5k at almost gunpoint at my head. They were unashamedly saying, 'you can call another service provider if you want'.
This was blatant cheating. They gave me a low quotation in the beginning to fool me in accepting their offer. They waited till I walk into their trap completely and then pounced on the opportunity when they could easily blackmail me.
I had no option but to surrender to their unethical, immoral demand and cough up 11.5k. Even after giving them the cheque they didn't move the car out of Hyderabad till 20th May 2009 when I had handed over the key and papers to them on May 15th itself. I got the car only on May 25th. That too, I was forced to go to their office in Pune and pick it up from there.
They kept on giving my misleading information all these 11 days. They are glib liars and don't have any professional ethics or moral obligations.
There are lot lot better movers and packers available in India at much better prices. Their quality of service is no way near to the hefty price they charge.
Hope none else gets trapped like this with this bunch of unscrupulous cheaters. That is the only reason for putting this review.
