While cruising down the highway of life,we might come across many manifestations of circumstances,some good some bad.Our individual personalities lead us all down a different path and that is how the exceptionals are tapped out from the unexceptionals.The book in question is about 21 such exceptionals who have been tapped out either because of their integral talents or determination or enthusiasm to make the world a better place to live in.

Authored the famous I.C.S.E course book A History of India.


#5-Ela R.Bhatt::


Founder general secretary of SEWA[Self Employed Women's Association]-an organisation of the poorest working women in Ahmedabad.


#6-Padma Ramachandran::


First woman IAS officer.


#7-Sai Paranjpye::


Marathi playwright,theatre personality and film-maker.


Her famous Hindi films are Chashme Baddoor,Saaz and Sparsh.


#8-Indira Jaisingh::


First woman to be designated as a Senior Advocate by the High Court of Bombay.


Has advocated the famous Mary Roy case,Rupan Deol Bajaj case,Githa Hariharan and Vandana Shiva's case.

Eminent painter and Padma Shri awardee[1999].


#10-Sonal Mansingh::


Youngest recipient of Padma Shri among artists in India.


Founder of Centre for Indian Classical Dances[CICD-1977].


#11-Preety SenGupta::


First Indian and first vegetarian to reach the Magnetic North Pole in the High Arctics.


#12-Aruna Roy::


Former IAS Officer and founded the Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangathan[MKSS]:a working example of a transparent organisation that demands for the public's right to scrutinize official records-a crucial check against arbitrary governance.

#17-Maya Krishna Rao::


Theatre actor,director,choreographer and one of the very few women to be trained as a Kathakali dancer ,unusually in the male role-Krishna,Arjuna,Ravana,Hanuman,Bhima.


Pioneered the one-woman dance-drama form.

Her famous discographies are:Ab ke sawan;Ali more angana and Man ke manjeere.


#21-Karnam Malleswari::


International weight-lifting champion.


First Indian woman ever to win a medal in the Olympics in 2000.


Women like these are needed in hundreds,as of now, if not thousands or lakhs for a billion plus population of India but that is only if more than the half a billion plus men'spopulation count thought similarly as the above mentioned women.
