I buy Women's World every week.

It costs me $2.50 CAD.

We get the same Magazine as they get in the United States.

Scan #: 09281-3o641

Number of Pages: 55

It takes me: Two days to read it.

The first thing I noticed: There were no Ads that fell into my lap.

There were only 8 Ads in the Magazine!!!!

.................WOMAN’S WORLD..................

THE FOUNT COVER

I am using the June 17, 2003 issue of Woman's World

The background is turquoise. A Lady, (Tenaya) is wearing a yellow top and a white Shirt. There is an insert of her when she was 7 sizes larger and 74 lbs. heavier.

On the bottom left there is a picture of a Father's Day Cake.

Floating around are butterflies. The headline of the featured articles are: Delay Aging, How To Get Money Back For Every Penny That You Spend, The Health Drink That Turns Muscles Into Fat, a new Miracle Lip Gloss that is better than Plastic Surgery and how to win like Billy Joel.

EVERY WEEK

When you open the first page you will instantly know why this Magazine was worth buying. On the first page there is a small square that tells you how to be happy. This Month they used this quote:

Deep inside of your heart lie the secrets to everything you have every wanted. The only key you need to unlock them is your dreams...by Catherine Maxwell.

There is always two articles that will make your heart laugh and cry at the same time. This Month one is about Chuck. He met a single Mom and fell in love with her and her Daughter. The other article is a Precious Memory of a loved one.

On the left side of the page, (it uses half a page), tells you everything that is in the Magazine each week.

There are two comics and one Kids are funny Story.

There is always a picture. This week it is about a Father.

They quote Clay Harrison:

It's Dad who takes you camping when he can find the time,

He helps you build a Tree House when you have learned to climb.

It's Dad who takes you fishing and helps you bait the hooks,

He teaches you the sort of things you may not learn in books.

That covers the first two pages of the Magazine!!!!

Cloths

I get a lot of great advice on clothing, (what's new in lengths and colours). The cloths are in the price range I can afford. I learned that pink & orange and kelley green & bright blue go very well together and I am happy when I wear them. Every week the show a different colour. It's a great way to learn how to combine different colours and how to spruce up your old cloths but buying the hottest colour in a scarf, hat, sweater or jewellery.

I use to rush out and buy new cloths and not think about if the colours would be right for me. Now I can go into a Store and put a Scarf next to my face and see if it does. That is when I learned a great Fashion Tip: Buy cloths in basic colours, (black, blue white, grey or brown), and freshen them up by using the hot new colours. It saved me a ton of money!

Fragrances, Make-up, Hair, Nails and Skin Products

This is the Magazine that I learned that L'Oreal made a hair die for grey hair. People who have grey or blank and grey hair find that it they are in a swimming pool or in the sun, (even with a hat on), the grey hairs begin to turn yellow).

The best tips I got were on how to use a cube of ice on my hair after I washed it. I knew that my last rinse should be in cold water and I ended up shivering until I should dry my body and hair. Now I don't bother and I can leave my water on hot until I get out of the shower, wrap a towel around my body as I run an ice cube around my head.

I learned how to put on my make-up by applying a water based cream, dab a little bit of make-up, (one shade lighter that my skin colour on my inner wrist), let it dry for a minute, spray a little water on my face, let it dry. During the drying time I apply the rest of my make-up and then I use a make-up brush that is dipped in loose powder. I stand over my sink and I use another make-up brush to take off the excess. They say that the nicest colours to by for your cheeks, lipstick and nail polish is peach.

I'll pass on some tips from other issues: You can use your Hair Conditioner instead of Cream to shave your legs. If you have dry hair rub a little body cream into it after your bath or shower. Don't use a blow Drier every day. Don't spray perfume on your skin, spray some in front of you and walk into it.

I have fungus under one of my big toes and nail polish doesn't cover the ridge so I use two colours of polish on my nails, (red & gold or pink/peach with silver). /\/\/\ <....the gold or silver on top of my toe nail or at the cuticles. On the other nails I use dots.

.Diets

Each week there is a healthy diet program. They give you a four day menu and recipes. Next to it are picture of some exercise.

They tell you about how to supplement your meals with herbs, vitamins and roots. Once upon a time I used Ginseng and Vitamin E. I found out that when you are going through Menopause they increased my Flushing. I started to take a pill, (that Cleopatra used), I think it was called a Space Pill.

This is the Magazine where I learned that Garlic Pills would lower my cholesterol and that 3 tablespoons of Coconut Milk, (a day), would help my thyroid become more balance.

Recipes

There are some clip out recipes that are on the soft paper that the Magazine is printed on. I have to glue them onto a recipe card.

Each week they have number of recipes, (this week they were focussing on grilling), and a few desserts. I have made their glazed pear recipe and it was wonderful. You don't add sugar and it is a boiled peach with a fresh strawberry glaze.

From other issue I learned: You can steam a whole Fish in your Dishwasher. How to debone and skin a Fish. How to make steam Artichoke, (they are so wonderful and I don't dip them in melted butter or Mayo).

They give you wonderful tips on using fresh Vegetables and Fruits. I have used a number of the Pasta Sauces and they are delicious.

I don't serialize my Jars any more I pop them into my Dishwasher. I have learned how to make Chutney, (the recipe I like best is a combination of chopped green tomatoes, red peppers, peaches and pears). I learned if you don't peel an apple, peach or pear before poaching them they don't sag but stay firm.

I bought some plastic forms from Ikea and I pour fresh juice into them to make a healthy popsicle.

THE ARTICLES

Each month there is a half page article that is written by the Authors who wrote the ''Chicken Soup For the Soul'' Books, a Mystery, thing you might like to know about, (tools, luggage, what has happened during this week in past years, Women's issues, homes, careers, Celebrities, Pets, new food etc.).

I enjoy doing the crossword, mini puzzles.

THE TWO LAST PAGES

This Magazine know how to leave you laughing and run to the Store, (Grocery Mart, Drug Store, Book Store or Newsstand), to buy the next issue.

On the two pages you will find the ''Last Laugh'', a few Cartoons, ''Was My Face Red'',''Kids Say the Cutest Things'' and ''Happy Endings''.

IF YOU CAN'T BUY IT

They do have a web site:

https://kable.com/womansword

I know I would be lost without Woman's World in my hands.
