If you do not get the title, then you are not a regular Woman's era reader. Reading this magazine is like watching one of Ekta Kapoor's serials; in fact I have a strong feeling that her offerings are modelled on this popular magazine!

Regular readers (and there are hordes and hordes of them) are basically the conservative types who believe in imposing rigid rules of behaviour in the family hearth. Woe to anybody stepping out of line.

Some very interesting homilies spun out by this magazine:

The MIL is always right, irrespective of whether she is a massive pain in the neck.

The DIL should always pander to her MIL's slightest whims, however quixotic.

The FIL is just that - a father figure, (a walking talking wallet) and no other contribution, unless he is inclined to impose a iron hand and generally act like Amrish Puri.

The SIL has got every right to trample on the desires of the DIL. Let's not forget that she also can use every belonging of her SIL with impunity.

The BIL most of the time does not care what is happening round him.

These stereotypes are going strong in all the categories WE caters to - be it fiction, agony column, features etc.

This magazine strongly believes that a girl child should always be the epitome of sacrifice - reminds you of the earlier Bollywood Sati Savithris?

WE would like it if all women stayed at home wash, cook, clean and be a general doormat for every body to trample on.

The concept of a daughter being refered to as 'paraya dhan' is downright derogatory to the modern girl.

The modern woman who is financially independant, dresses well, multitasks and holds down a high profile job is anathema to WE.

The language (grammar and composition) is pathetic.

On the upside, this magazine can entertain the gossippy, dogmatic, and the sacrificial lambs.
