…to my worst enemies!

Friends, Indians, countrymen, lend me thy jeers, I come not to praise Microsoft but to bury it. The good that it used to do, has been interred with it, but the evil carries on…

Why I used the words worst enemies is because I do not intend anything good to happen to them. And that is the reason why, any Microsoft product is going to be detrimental to the blood pressure and temper of any sane person. Now come on, what would you do when you are faced with any product, which shows a sign of "the computer does not recognize any keyboard activity. Press any key to proceed."Gnnnnnn. Some real genius thought that one up. Anyway, talking about Microsoft products, buying a Window means that you have invested a lot of money in buying the product, where you are going to be disturbed every single day with pop-ups, pointing out that you need updates.

Some people are under the impression that Microsoft updates are necessary to keep their computers fighting fit and fine. That ain't necessarily so. The only one to find out whether your computer version is pirated, coming all the way from Singapore instead of coming all the way from the USA. All right, so they found out that your pirated version is something which they did not sell over the counter. What happens then? Zing. You receive a message telling you very sadly that they have found out that the Windows operating system loaded in your computer is pirated. And that is why the operating system is not going to work. So all you have to do is go to your computer dealer and wring his neck and 36, 000 rupees down the drain.

Internet Explorer

Anyway, Linux is a much better proposition. Talking about Microsoft products. We have already shot down the operating system, which needs to be reloaded every 3 months, because it keeps getting killed with fatal errors and the system has to recover ever so often. Next, let us come to Internet Explorer. This can be considered to be one of the most pathetic of all the search engines, because it is going to make sure that your computer gets easy access to all the adware, Malware, and viruses floating out in the ethernet out there. A sensible person is going to go in for either Google Chrome , and even Firefox.

Outlook express and Windows live

Now, those of you using Outlook express may have received the shock of your life when Microsoft decided to shut down the Outlook express in a completely arbitrary fashion, without any sort of notification, on 1 September 2009. According to them, they had sent out messages to all the Hotmail users of their decision. Well, I did not get any message, nor did any of my 27 colleagues and acquaintances. Did anyone out there get any sort of notification from Hotmail, telling us to take care, they were going to shut down Outlook express? Anyway, after a little bit of headache and wondering whether something had gone drastically wrong with the Outlook express, one found out that hallelujah, they had started up another pain in the neck, in the shape of a half-baked half tested mail delivery system known as Windows live. Anyway, you go to the customer service care, (by the way, the number given on their Internet for India, is definitely not correct) through the Internet and forget about your complaint. It has been buried in the number of complaints already pouring on the arbitrary heads of Microsoft. What do they care, they are trying their best to compete with Google, which is a far far better thing, and even Yahoo mail. So one can do without this half-baked, badly tested mail service. Anyway, those who use Outlook express could send files easily, straight from their desktop, by pressing the send e-mail button. Now, dear Windows live does not allow you to do that. Instead, it asks you to connect to Microsoft exchange. What the heck is Microsoft exchange? Can anybody tell you? No, the customer care Center, could not tell you, because it does not know itself. Or does it exist at all?

Anyway, you decide to go to Hotmail. Open up your mail. Oh well, you get the message, your Internet Explorer is not able to open up this mail, download IE 7. Another way of testing whether you have a pirated version of Microsoft. No, thank you, I do not want to download another virus accepting Internet search engine. Well, here you are, in your inbox. You try to send a message. Hey, there is no message box! Amazing. A mail service with no message box, and no send button. Microsoft has really done it this time. Let us give these geniuses a standing ovation for stupidity.

The most amazing thing is that Hotmail works perfectly when it is opened in Firefox or Chrome. I have a feeling that there is somebody in Microsoft working on the side of their own competitors. Otherwise, who could let software or a program pass, without testing it properly and smoothing all its bugs? Many months have passed since Live and the new Hotmail came into existence, but they still cannot be opened and utilized properly through Internet Explorer, which is a Microsoft product. QED. The research department could not care less, even though you can find numerous complaints on the Microsoft forum. Well, chipmunks and rats in their own woodpile, and we can clearly say that there is something really rotten in the state of Denmark!

So, friends Indians countrymen, go in for Google mail, Firefox, and Chrome. Go in for an operating system, like Linux. You are not going to regret it. By the way, the crowning glory is getting out operating system programs like Windows Vista and even 2007 without any drivers, coming into the market at the same time. Clap, clap, clap, Microsoft, take your bow!
