So many operating systems are available in the market today. Amongst windows 98 is the most widely used OS. I was also used to work in the same old windows 98 but I was very impressed by the windows XP at first sight. It's stunning beautiful. It's a pleasure to work in XP environment. A great facility is that if you want, you can keep both the OS in different partitions.
Windows XP is having all the features available in windows 98. One problem it was having that all the softwares and games don't work in it. But it is now solved and new versions of such softwares are now compatible with Windows XP.
It won't work with old PCs and get slow but for new generation PCs, Pentium III and IV, it works excellent. I am using Windows XP with Celeron 800 MHz, 128 MB RAM and 20 GB hard disk and it works great. It doesn't get slow but I don't recommend it for PCs having processor below Pentium III. The reason for getting slow is its look, it eats more RAM.
These are just a few features to list and many you will find after use.
XP is having all the essential softwares installed with it that you don't need to install many essential softwares like Acdsee, Mediaplayer 8.0, Winzip, MSN messenger, MSN explorer, Movie maker and many others. CD burning is very fast in Windows XP, the same CD takes 8-9 mins. in Win. 98 can be burned in just 6 mins. with Win. XP. Better resolution in viewing images. Faster internet. Security point of view, it is more secure than Windows 98.
If you don't consider all the above features still you have the reason the install Windows XP, that is its look. I am using it only because I like it. It is cool. Just try it, I don't know the cost difference but it doesn't matter.
