WinXP - Floodgates to Viruses!!. Review on Windows XP

Hi all,

If the recent spate of virus attacks on this windoZe GUI front-end to DOS is any indication , then we would understand where this bloatware stands as far as personal data security is concerned. It is amazing how a zillion spywares can be installed through the back door while browsing the internet with IE . I wonder why nobody has sued microsoft for developing such a piece of trash. I think any one who is concerned about personal data security in particular and the problems a virus-a-day on this platform should not even look at this OS.

Consider the alternative , Linux . I mean this OS is just amazing , only a couple of years back it lacked a decent desktop GUI , but still it has always been powerful , safe and virtually virus free. Today , the Linux camp has so many gorgeous desktop GUI's to choose from . Just take a look at https://gnome.org , or the stylish https://kde.org for example. All this for FREE!! , at absolutely no cost.

Even the installation process on the newer linux distributions is just fantastic. The user need not have any hardware details. you dont have to reboot several times as does WindoZe makes you to do. There is only one reboot at the end of the install process.

In terms of stability , Linux has inherited the legendary dependability of it's parent OS , UNIX. You have video editing softwares , DVD burning softwares , CD ripping softwares everything for FREE!! , I mean with the original source code too!!!. Incase you have a new feature to add to an existing video editing software , just get the source code and add it and publish it to the world. If you are a non-programmer , just go some news groups , post the request of the new feature and wait a couple of days and you will see those features implemented for you , again at no cost whatsoever . Try THAT with your clunky monolithic windoZe trash can.
