I don't know why Microsoft is still continuing this media player. I agree the fact that it was one of the best media player in the earlier generation. But for the last five or six years Microsoft has done nothing to improve it. They have added no new features to the built in media player of Windows operating system.
I wonder why it does not have support for playing MKV media files. Even the mobile media players support this. Also it still support only very few media types.
I agree that it has one of the simplest user interface among all media players. But what is the need of it while you don.t support popular media types? I keep it on my laptop only because I can't uninstall it.
