INTRODUCTION

An year ago, after searching the video shop for a long time, I couldn't find a suitable horror movie. That was the reason why I took a movie which I thought would be better than the others especially as Denise Richards was in that movie. I did hear lots of my friends talking about this movie which made me think that it is worth watching.

This movie called ''Wild Things'' has got an unbelievable amount of twist and turns in the story, as treachery seemed be the major factor of the movie other than being a steamy suspense thriller.

I just can't remember any other movie having a bigger twist than this one. Everything just goes upside down, exactly the other way we had been thinking it really is. The problem about the movie is that it is viewed from three different angles - as a suspense thriller, as somewhat a sex movie and also a drama. It all depends on the way in which you are seeing this movie.

The sequel to the movie was released last year, but it was not any way near the original. They just seemed to try to repeat the first one blindly. Susan Ward and Leila Arcieri replaces Denise Richards and Neve Campbell, but I have to say that it really was a poor change.

Denise Richards may have been an important factor in the success of Wild Things, especially considering that car wash scene and the others to follow. As the DVD of both Wild Things as well as the sequel is available in a single DVD, by watching them you will get both to know the difference between them.

THE PLOT

Sam Lombardo (Matt Dillon) is a high school guidance counselor. Kelly Van Ryan (Denise Richards), who is also the daughter of the town's richest woman, Sandra Van Ryan (Theresa Russell) seems attracted to him.

Later she accuses Sam of raping him. We could see her coming out of his house in torn clothes the day before the accusation. Detectives Ray Duquette (Kevin Bacon) and Gloria Perez (Daphne Rubin-Vega).

At the same time, another girl, Suzie Toller (Neve Campbell) comes forward with similar allegations saying that she was a former rape victim of the same man and every one was almost sure that Sam did rape Kelly.

But as the case comes to court, everything takes a quick turn inside out as Suzie tells the court that Sam didn't rape her, neither did he do anything to Kelly - and it was all an evil plot by Kelly. But this is not the end. There is even better a plan which you will come to know on the way.

ALL IT HAS GOT

It seemed as if Denise Richards was the one who got more attention in the movie. She looked gorgeous in the car washing scene and she went through the final meeting with her friends till the end.

Even if she was not seen in much of the movies, the ones I could remember being Valentine, Starship Troopers and Scary Movie 3, she has got some talent in the less chance she got.

Matt Dillon was good. His expressions were even better than his dialogues. Kevin Bacon did a good job too, through out the movie. Neve Campbell seems to be acting in an ordinary manner, but she had the perfect looks of bad, unruly girl Suzie.

After watching the movie, what you will realize is that everything is not what it seems to be - you will never know whats inside people. The movie is a perfect example of how an ordinary movie can be made a hit with the help of some hot scenes and the same amount of twist and turns.
