I bought a New pura fresh plus RO water purifier on 26.07.2013. It is still under warranty. It failed to function from 15.06.2014.I initially called up your local service center and then registered a complaint with Whirlpool India on June 16th, Service Request number: CN0614027592. The service engineer came and said the prefilter is defective and the cover was jammed, it therefore cannot be opened. The pre filter( located outside the machine) was changed( cost me Rs. 750/-) on the 22nd and he went off with the satisfaction code. The purifier still did not work, not even for a few minutes. I again called up Whirlpool India who informed me that the complaint had been closed and only a new compliant can be filed. They filed a new complaint for the same problem which was continuing on June 23rd, Service Request number: CN0614039491. The service engineer came back said all the other 3 filters that are inside the machine need to be changed as well. It will cost Rs. 2800/+ 950+ 950/-= Rs 4700/- Since I was not at home at the time, I called up the Whirlpool India and informed them that I was willing to pay, could they please change the filters.
It is the 30th of June today, I have called up Whirlpool India 5 times in the past week( with a Sunday in between)- a total of 53 minutes, 35 secs. Still as I write this today at 8.00 PM, the water purifier is still not working.

28.06.2014 – 17 minutes – informed that parts were not available, it will definitely be repaired on 29.06- even though it was a Sunday.

Rest assured, I will not be buying Whirlpool again. But I feel I have to knock on the doors of the consumer court to get my water purifier repaired- please note the purifier is under warranty and I will have spend Rs. 5450/ - in getting it repaired this time.
Please also not that I had changed the prefilter once earlier for Rs. 450/- . So a total of Rs. 5900/- in the 11 months under warranty.
I have made inquiries about the Annual maintenance contract - It is Rs. 5800/ - per year and includes change of all filters only once a year. If any filter conks out again during the year- you pay extra. Considering the fact that all my filters went out of order within 11 months and the change of the prefilter is mandatory at 3-4 months, you could end up spending much more than that.
The water quality is good but there are equally food RO purifiers available in the market which cost less to maintain.
Do not buy this one.
