Bought the FP283D on Jan'13(Protton World Series 6th Sense/Sixth Sense). Now it's 15 months old, I am facing a lot of issues. May be due to the multi-door structure, cooling is not effective in the refrigerator and vegetable section.  If contents in Refrigerator is less, more cooling is in vegetable which makes the veg frozen and damaged. If contents are more in refrigerator, not effective cooling in veg section which again makes the veg damaged. Perfect balance of refrigerator content and vegetable can never be attained so that enough cooling for both sections. It seems independent sensors are lacking for each section.


Within this 15 months time, I have repaired the fridge twice, both for ineffective(no) cooling complaint in refrigerator section even if settings is set to max. Both times they replaced sensor, but now again the same issue reappear and I have to call CC again. Issue with service people is as soon as they hear the issue of ineffective cooling in refrigerator section, they change the sensor. I am sure the third time, they gonna change the sensor for the third time, not understanding it has been changed twice and the problem lies somewhere else. They quickly do something, collect the money and vanish. Also another issue with Whirlpool service center which I observed was their false promises. Since I was facing issues one after another, I thought of going for AMC, and for that I called the service center twice. Both times, they mentioned they will forward my queries to AMC dept. and I will get a call back from them. Nonetheless to say, no calls reached me yet.Even on max settings, food is getting spoiled unless kept in freezer. Also I found the freezer inside wall is cracked which I have to show the technician this time.


Btw, the electricity consumption is higher too. Company claims it uses around 2 units per day(that alone makes a whopping 730 Watts per year, very high for a similar capacity fridge). Machine sound is also high compared to my previous Samsung 260 ltr one which I bought 10 years back. There is no lock for Veg tray.


Freezer however is fine, fast freezing is seen from day one. Not sure I can recommend this product. Product quality is so unexpected from a respected brand. For me, it seems to be a failure product and they have to revisit the design again.
