I am writing this on behalf of my uncle who visited me in Chennai when I was working in Chennai and he saw me purchasing whirlpool washing machine 650h. He asked for the features and other details and he came back to Jamshedpur and purchased the same model but different color.
He never got a chance to use the washing machine for more than 8 months and it is lying like garbage since he purchased. The fault was of the technician who came to install the machine he did not remove the iron bend which is used for supporting the machine when it is transported. He just installed it and gave a demo how to use it. They are not aware of this because they purchased this for the first time. Then one fine day it started making sound. They called the helpline number and whirlpool has some tie up with local technician who came and saw the weight that is situated at the bottom of the tank is broken and then he replaced iron bend and the machine worked for one day and then again failed.
They called the technician again and he told the problem is with the board and he ordered a board through Jamshedpur service center and they sent a wrong board and he came back with the board after the warranty is over and said this is a new board and it was not fitting the machine as the connectors were different and he then removed the connector and simply twisted the wires and taped them. it did not work.
After couple of months the service center told you have to pay for parts and service because the guarantee period is over. But the initial complain was raised during the warranty period. No body listened to them and it is still lying without repair. My uncle promised not to buy another whirlpool till date the machine is useless.
Now my machine was working fine all these days now it started giving problem like when we put the clothes and turn it on it keep on filling water and the agitator never starts and finally water starts coming off from the top.to the bottom of the machine. I am afraid to call whirlpool technician because the technician they don't have proper knowledge and they will simply screw it more and I will end up with similar story.
I would request whirlpool if you have some good technician then only have them contact me my contact number is 9031259469. I know the warranty is over and I have to pay for service and parts. I don't have problem in paying but afraid to have some unexperienced technician attend my machine.
Or I will dump the machine and buy some Samsung or LG because my friends have Samsung and LG and it is working for decades more than 12-15 years without a single problem. I should also switch to LG and SAMSUNG.
