I just rented this movie and saw it on Monday. It is so hilarious! I love how the story begins in India where Hari Patel's father is requesting the Swamiji to bless him in the temple as he journeys overseas to America. This movie is very funny. I sure do remember Kal Penn from American Desi, where he played this Indian trying to be ghetto (really strange). He was as good in this movie. It is like one of those 'Desi Fever' movies that you can really get into. This is one of those movies that reflects how we second-generation Indians in America try to adapt to a different culture while keeping our dominant culture. But I thought that was wrong when that one guy tried to keep the FOBs ('fresh off the boat') out of the Desi Fever party. That was all wrong! In my opinion, they're Indians too, and they have the right to party as well. You can't deny them those basic rights! They're also human beings. But overall, this movie was hilarious.
