How awesome is WhatsApp? You can chat, send pictures, share voice notes too; and now, it's going to become even better. Recent leaks and reports suggest, WhatsApp is eyeing voice-calling option on its application, which will also be made available free of cost, just like every other feature.

The possibility of calling feature making its appearance on WhatsApp has moved closer to becoming a reality, now that images of WhatsApp voice calling in action have been leaked via AndroidWorld.nl. Most likely, we might get bestowed with voice-calling facility on the Android 5.0 version of WhatsApp that will be made available to devices running on Lollipop flavour(as the below snapshot implies).

As you can see, the WhatsApp screenshot also has some kind of recording and playback option inscribed on the screen with caller's identity. Also, somehow the company has managed to pack in a separate calling screen within the application that will come across in full-fledged manner comprising of contact's image, name and number etc.

WhatsApp has been the catalyst for downfall of operator-bound SMS services. If they manage to offer free voice-calling facility to millions of its users then surely, it's the end of traditional telecom models, and thereby relying more on data-centric services.

The likes of Skype already offer free calling but only via their platforms. Only if WhatsApp manages to break the cost-hurdle then only, we'll truly see'connectivity with millions' turning into reality.
