On one of the trips back home, my Son took my phone and downloaded this app called whatsapp. He said I don't have to send text messages anymore because like facebook everyone has whatsapp. First thought to pass through my head was that it would cost money, but he said it is free of cost. I just need to turn on the data connection when going out, because at home there is wi-fi.
After he taught me a few things, I started using it myself. Sending messages to my relative, friends and of course children. Sometimes I used to just call someone to tell them a thing or two, now I just send them a message on whatsapp. It is less time consuming, easy and free. When my children are busy with work and incapable to take my call, they immediately send a message on whatsapp.
One more thing is that you can check the last time someone was online. this feature is useful.
I use very few emoticons compared to other. But many features, like sharing photographs, sending audio recording or videos with people who are far off, are effective and easy.
