Welcome was one of the two highly anticipated movies to be released on eid (the other being taare zameen pe). The movie begins on a promising not with nana patekar, the boss of the city, trying to find a suitable match for his sister from a "shareef" family. But the movie falters midway with too much of slapstick comedy and poor jokes. The songs of the movie are terrible to say the least.
They add nothing to the script and are numbingly long. Katrina Kaif plays the part like she does best, with a wooden smile and monotonous dialogue delivery ( Somebody should tell her to concentrate on her acting skills rather than her physical appearence). The director forgets that he has great actors like Akshay Kumar, Feroze Khan and Paresh Rawal in the film too. The climax is too childish and reminds you of the climax in the Dhamaal.
The film entirely belongs to the combination of Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor. The sequence where Nana is made to ride a horse is hillariously potrated by him and Vijay Raaz. Overall the film was below average and I give it 2 stars.
