This is out of a real experience that I would not suggest drastic weight reduction programs. As one of my own friend's wife who underwent one of these programs in Dubai is currently undergoing treatment for depression & is on steroids. It's nice to have a great shape, here is a beautiful note by Osho which can be of great help. When most of us eat we are not very conscious. It has become very mechanical. We have stopped relishing what we eat. We are doing thousand & one things when we eat. We are watching TV, thinking of all sorts of things. We hardly pay attention to the very experience of eating. It's just like when one smokes his or her first cigarette it's a very rich experience as we are so more aware. The very awareness makes that one cigarette enough. As the awareness drops it's chimney time. Same is the case with food. We stuff our bodies with unnecessary junk as we are not enjoying the food we are eating. Quantity replaces quality of the eating experience.
I would recommend from my experience low impact exercises such as brisk walks, swimming being one of the best along with conscious eating giving oneself the attention one deserves. Happy & meditative eating! I found this to be one of the very intelligent explanations I have heard, so sharing with u all!
