With so many movies coming out on terrorism, sometimes filmmakers tend to get repetitive. But to my surprise Wednesday is not what it initially promises to be.Yes, it is a high voltage pulsating racy thriller with thankfully no romantic angle to it. But just when you will think that you are getting a hold of the proceedings.BANG! You will be taken to a different world which I wish can materialize.soon enough.

When the entire Hollywood is highlighting the deadly duo of Al Pachino and Robert D Nero, we have Nasser(The caller) and Anupam Kher(Police Commissioner) here, who have pulled off such powerhouse performances that  will make you feel that they are as good, if not better! I wish I see more of them in such meaningful roles. It is not only these two but the entire crew of Jimmy Shergill(hot tempered cop), Aamir Bashir(level headed cop)  and the rest have indeed played their part to perfection.I've never liked Shergill this much since Machis. The plot is believable and the treatment is fantastic, especially coming from a debutant director Neeraj Pandey. The caller takes the Commissioner for a ride with bomb treats in the city and asks for his demands to be fulfilled.Nothing new here but what happens next is as they say is history!

The pace of the movie is electrifying and an impressive background score adds to its mood. There is a tension in the air and you will feel it.The dialogues, especially in the climax are well written and needless to say well executed. The director beautifully depicts the helpless situation of the Govt in such situations in spite of having all the resources and power. However, he also prominently displays that  there are some right people like Kher whom we can completely rely on during emergencies.

I didn't want the movie to end but I was also worried that the director might goof up after a mesmerizing journey. Thank God, he didn't!

I feel he couldn't have scripted a better climax than this.It is not just riveting but might shake your entire thinking process. Naseer, in particular is out of the world when he delivers his speech and you will feel his pain, his emotions. His words though are simple but are extraordinary and will hit you hard enough to remember for a long long time.

I'm not a film critic, but a reviewer!  And I'm not qualified enough to find flaws in probably the movie of the year! So for me its flawless or the sheer impact of the movie has made me forget its minor glitches, if any.

It is extremely difficult to entertain and pass-on a strong message at the same time.Very few movies does it and Wednesday is one of those who lays a blueprint for movie makers who want to achieve this in the near future. The movie not just entertains you but leaves a message that is so so strong, that you will wish everyday of our life is .

a Wednesday!
