Jul 11, 2006 01:29 PM 9838 Views

Hello to all

And special hello to those who use to wear contact lenses and here are some safety tips for you for a safe, secure and happy living with contact lenses.

This review is a result of my search of some safety tips for one of my nice friend, she use to wear lenses but not so happy with her lenses rather she prefer to wear glasses but she has to start using contact lenses due to many reasons, her eyesight  is not well since a long time and due to regular wearing of glasses there was some spots of frames & glasses started developing on her nose as well as round her eyes which seems not well for her beautiful personality as she is very attractive in appearance and only due to glasses her overall personality is effecting drastically and handling glasses in also not so easy as we all know, so all these things compelled her to try contact lenses and after using lenses for sometime she again started new problems. After some discussion I ask her not to worry and better visit a eye specialist and have some advices n suggestions with him and with some contact lens users, simultaneusly I told her that I will try to find some good and useful stuff on internet, as a result of which I collected below mentioned safety tips for her as well as for everybody who is using contact lenses in their daily routine. I hope you people find these tips useful for you.

Guys who are using lenses, please dont worry about the tips coz many of the tips are useful for you also. So read these tips and live happily with your contact lenses. So find this information useful for all my friends, therefore writing this review to share the collected information with all of you. Even if you are not using contact lenses or not evn glasses you can forward this information to your friends, nears n dears, if you find it useful in some respect.

Here I am giving some tips & product information to all contact lens user, both guys n gals. Some of the tips are meant for only gals when it comes to applying makeup safely around the eyes.

  1. Wash your hands properly with clean water prior to putting in each contact and then apply makeup.

  2. Don't try to expose your eyes to water while wearing contacts.

  3. Take out the lenses before you remove your makeup. Avoid greasy or oily makeup removers as they may build up on the contact lenses.

  4. Better avoid getting too close to the eye with any type of makeup.

  5. Try to use makeup that is hypoallergenic to avoid sensitivity, moreover use only well known trusted brand names.

  6. Always use water soluble makeup.

  7. Don't use waterproof mascara as it may permanently adhere to the lens. Also avoid mascara that contains volume building fibers.

  8. Avoid eye shadow that is powder. Use only gel, liquid or cream. Never use eye shadow that is frosted or iridescent. These may contain oyster shells or mica.

  9. Do not use eyeliner that is directly drawn on the rim of the eye. Keep all eyeliner pencils sharp enough so the wood doesn't scratch the surface of the eye.

  10. Use pressed powders.

  11. Don't use hairspray or other aerosols if you have already put in your lenses. Allow all hairspray to settle before walking into a room that has just been sprayed. Many times hair products can irritate the eyes and they are more susceptible now to problems because you wear contacts.

  12. Keep all nail polish remover and perfumes away from your contacts.

  13. Never swap makeup application sponges or brushes with your friends and wash your application brushes frequently

  14. Don't put on make up if your eyes are already red or swollen, this will only irritate them more.

  15. Beware of flaking mascara because pieces of nylon can reach the eye and never purchase mascara refills.

  16. Never use saliva or water to thin cosmetics.

  17. Never swap your contacts with your friends.

  18. Never wear the contacts if they become cracked, chipped or torn.

  19. You may want to use an eye wash to remove any excess oils from makeup residual? Replace your cosmetics every six months to avoid bacterial growth.

  20. Never apply any toye eye makeup while in a car or worse yet while driving, not even when you are in motion or moving.

If you follows a few common sense ways of putting on makeup properly & purchasing the right products, there should be no problems with the contacts, or maintaining eye health and safety. So take care of your eye as much as you can.

All the very best for happy and safe life with contact lenses.

Thanks, Regards n lol
