When I was living in Pune in 2012, I ordered a Numero Uno watch from watchkart.com. The offered price was Rs.3000 and after 80% discount I got it for Rs. 600.
I was happy at the time of order placed. Contrary to my excitement that faded away as soon as I opened the order, the watch was of pathetic quality, its strap was of nylon, and in the dial Day n Night was not working. Compared to the picture the watch looked exactly tiny, of no significance.
I accepted it with a heavy heart as I believed returning it was not the healthy option. I heaved a sigh of relief as I didn’t order a big order. Well, that was the day when I felt watchkart is a flop online shopping company. It became true as nowadays it doesn’t exist.
To my consternation, next year I came to Delhi and found the same watch in Nehru Place market for just Rs 80. In fact there were watches of all brand and better looking and none of the watch was more than 100 bucks. Since then I never ordered, especially, a watch from any of the online shopping sites. 90 percent watches being sold on online sites are imported from China and sold out at manifold higher price than the actual. People outside Delhi will not believe this fact, but this is the stark reality of the Indian online shopping sites. My advice: don’t buy watches online but all.
