I bought Fossil CH2600 from Watchkart on 4th June. Got the Delivery on 6th June. Before placing order, I had confirmed with them about their Returns policy and they mentioned me over phone that I can return it within 14 days.

The watch works fine, however, I had some problems adjusting the date. I went through the manual but as it's a common manual for all their watch models, I was able to adjust the time but I wasn't sure about the Crown movement. According to Fossil's manual, the watch is supposed to have 2 Crown movement. But mine had only 1. As I am not a Watch expert, I was unsure whether I was understanding the Crown movement correctly. Every alternate day, the date would be changed. So in order to clarify, I called Fossil India to confirm. The Technician told me that the Crown is supposed to have to 2 movements. 'A slight pull to adjust date and a further pull to adjust time.'The crown on my watch wasn't being depressed properly. They asked me to visit the nearest Retail outlet to confirm the issue.

I called up Watchkart and informed them that the Watch seems to have a Manufacturing defect and I wanted to return it as I didn't want to take a new product to the Service centre. The CSR told me that this is their policy:

'Please inform us within 72 hours if you receive the product damaged or broken.  We would issue Store Credit in your account which you could use against your next purchase.'

In case I still want to return, I could. But their QC team will check and of any defect is found, they will return the Watch to me. I asked them, what if there's a Manufacturing defect? He repeated the same line. When I argued that this is not a damage or broken issue and just a Manufacturing defect. He said that acc to their company Policy, Manufacturing Defects fall under Damage/Broken.  I again asked him, if there's a manufacturing defect, why would the watch be returned to me? Same line repeat.

I asked them about this policy'The Return policy offers you the option to return items purchased within 14 days of receipt.'. He said that this is valid only in case you don't like the Product. When I told him that I had called before the Purchase and your CS team had told me that I can return the product within 14 days even if there's a defect with no questions asked. They said that they don't have a record of it. Now, I have ended up with a product with a Manufacturing defect. When I asked the CS that why is Manufacturing defect not mentioned with Damages and Broken for the 72 hour intimation, he said it's mentioned with their Internal team but not on the site.

So this is just a clear case of taking the Customers for a ride. Sell minute defective watches to unsuspecting Customers for a discount and then screw with the Returns Policy on their own will. How can their team return the product to me if their QC team finds that it has a Manufacturing defect? How am I, as a Customer responsible for a Manufacturing defect? And why should I, after spending close to Rs 5K, send my watch to the Service centre?

I should have stuck to Amazon.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Stick to popular Ecommerce sites.
