Beware.. I did a mistake signing up.. read before going over..
Opened an account less than a month ago over internet:
- Could not do it as a joint account and had to go over to the back to get it changed. Did that and they ordered the additional cards
Did an immediate wire tansfer and it was done incorrectly. The name to be used was not mine and it was my spouse's. Had to go through multiple things to convince them its my money and we have a joint account.. bad experience
Cheques were ordered and everything came in with 1 booklet missing.. called customer service and as usual, they apologized and said it will be taken care of.. and incase I want the same numbers, I need to request them the next time.. why would I want them
Its been 4 weeks and haven't received my cards. Sending a response to the back said that they dont' even have a record of this being ordered even after me telling them that I got the PIN number. After 1 day of message exchange, they were able to identify that the cards were returned back and I had to confirm my address. The earlier message about me receiving my PIN a week ago on the same address did not ring a bell I guess
All they could offer was sending the cards again, using the same method, which might reach me or not. Asking them to fedex it was not allowed, even asking them to send it to their bank branch where I can go and pick them up was not allowed.
After all this, I was interested in continuing the account.. closing my relation with wamu this weekend..
