Operation Iraqi Liberation (OIL)

Note: I am very sorry if any of my comments in this review hurt someone's feelings. But all I am trying here is to get my point across!

Like many other Ms-ians before me, I am here to write about what I feel about the War in Iraq! Firstly I would like to point out (even to MS) that War on Iraq is not correct according to the English language. The reason it is a very popular phrase is the powerful dominance of the western media throughout the world! And I am not just stating this out of the blues but I have confirmed it from reliable teachers, etc.

''Operation Iraqi Liberation'' was the name chosen by the Pentagon for this military conflict. But releasing that it shortened down to ''OIL'' they changed the name to Operation Iraqi Freedom! But who knows, being American they can do anything. For example, tomorrow they might divide Iraq into three categories: Premium, Unleaded and Regular.

Jokes aside, I believe this war is nothing more than a small part of a long-term strategy of the USA's desperate attempt to re-enforce itself as the ''superpower'' of the world! And this plan is nothing new. It existed during the World wars, it existed during the Vietnam war, the conflict in Kosovo and it has only strengthened after September the 11th! Given below are some facts, figures and opinions relating to this ''plan''!

America's rise to Power

America rose to power in World war I. The reason is not that they had superior technology or that their soldiers were more skilled than others but that the battlefield was far away from home. Any of the allies could have gone on to become the superpower. But America suffered minimal loss compared to any other country in WW1 just because o their geographical advantages. Infact other than the war for independence or the civil wars all their military conflicts have been fought on foreign soil.

America further imposed its superpower status by being the first country (till today) to have used a Weapon Of Mass Destruction! (The atom bomb dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki)! They then got indulged in the “cold war” with the then superpower Russia!

Co-incidentally during all these wars their scientist and industrialist were making mammoth advancements. This helped them boost their economy.

America’s 15 seconds(maybe a bit more) of Fame

America has held a status of being the most powerful country in the world from the late 1940’s to the late 1990’s. It has used its status to win many battles, economical and political, without even taking to the battlefield. They have also tried their very best to impose the “American Culture” onto as many countries as they could. The main reason for this being that the more dominant their culture becomes the more demand for the products is created.

America’s Fall

The main reason behind their fall is their foreign policy. A country, which has no moral commitments, inside or outside their country, has no business of telling how another country, should be ruled. If you have the status of a superpower then you have to behave responsibly and not like a corrupted politician. I do not say that I agree with what Osama Bin Ladin has done but I do whole-heartedly agree with his motive. If you were to live in a country, which was tortured, exploited and ruined by an external power, what would you do? Revenge is wrong but silently suffering is worse.

With this war America’s plan has failed. Their position of a superpower is lost. They are now nothing more than a “bully” nation. They have increased trouble for themselves and the rest of the western world!

Why no war in Iraq (finally!)

Because above all America has not justified its reasons. Where are the WMD’s they were talking about? They haven’t found anything. Oh yes, they have found a cache of weapons sold to Iraq by USA themselves. Like the joke goes:

Kofi Annan: How do you know that Iraq has WMD’s?

George Bush: Duh! We have the receipts!

America’s actual reasons for this war are:

1) Oil.      2) Dominance in the Middle East          3) empowering its economy          4) Personal revenge by George Bush

Remember a war always does good to a slack economy.

America has not only dishonoured the majority of the world’s opinion but also disregarded UN’s authority. If tomorrow India were to attack Pakistan, I doubt if they would take their case to UN. Un is history, thanks to US.

What we see on BBC or CNN is not free media anymore. It’s what we in Australia call a propaganda war. Isn’t it obvious the US’s efforts to hide the truth by sacking journalists who dare to bare the truth. Does this mean that are once-upon-a-time free media is coming under the shadow of US communism.

What Next?

Syria, North Korea, Iran…. The list is endless. North Korea tested a missile and the Us called it provocation. A few days later they tested “the mother of all bombs”. What do you call that? Think about it!

Osama bin Ladin bombs the WTC and kills 300 civilians, he’s a terrorist. The USA bomb Afghanistan and kill 12000 civilians. What should they be called? Think about it!

The French do not support America in an unjustified war, they are called arrogant. The US in response changes the name “French fries” to freedom fries. What do you call that? Think!

I know this review is long and not to the point but that is what I want to get across. It is not just the conflict in Iraq I am worried about. I am worried about the future. I am worried about tomorrow. In the near future I will graduate, get married have kids. What will my kids see on television. Instead of Tom & Jerry, Bush & Saddam? Instead of life sciences on Discovery channel, the effect of WMDs? instead of studying about the Mughals in history, they would study about the atrocities of America?

Why? I ask Why?

It is upto us to make a better future. Please do something about it! Don't let people like George Bush destroy our civilisations!

I am not powerful person politically or economically. But I would do everything I can to stop America from achieving its selfish goals. The first step I have taken is that I have stopped using American goods because I don’t want any part of my money to be used in their horrendous acts. I know I as an individual cannot affect their economy but I am sure there are may more people around the world and the numbers are increasing.

Thank you all for reading this review, please comment!

and please pray for a better tomorrow!

And remember,
