A Remake That Went Horribly Wrong. Review on Wanted - Bollywood

In the reviews that I have written before I have mentioned that there is a growing trend among directors these days to remake a popular flick made in regional language and potray the same old wine in a new bottle. It is dissapointing when debutant directors try this shortcut in order to get a place in the Hindi film industry.

This particular movie has been already made 2 times once in tamil and once in telugu. While the movie was not a big hit in Tamil, the Telugu one was a superhit courtesy Mahesh Babu. I wonder why Prabhudeva wanted to try the same formula twice. Nevertheless this experiment has not worked for him.

This movie was projected to be a masala action movie, but alas it turned out to be only a mindless action flick. The scenes lack consistency and some of them are terrible. How can one accept a rowdy character who is talking Hindi with an accent. Especially some of the scenes involving Salman and Ayesha Takia are so torturous that one begins to feel unwanted while watching "WANTED".

There is nothing new in the movie. This kind of plot in action movies has been going on for years now and "WANTED" fails to attract the imagination of the audience. However there are some good performances in this movie. Mahesh Manjrekar as Inspector and Prakash Raj as villain are good to watch. Salman has an average performance and Ayesha Takia is a burden on the movie. The ending of the movie is good but it still fails to impress.

This movie is only for "DIE HARD SALMAN FANS" who feel fortunate if they catch a glimpse of him in any place. So if you are not a fan of "SALMAN KHAN" you will surely feel "UNWANTED".
