Did you like Gajini? If yes, chances are that you will like this film too. If not, better skip WANTED. The film definitely has a different plot, but the tempo and pace is almost the same. Action filled film with romance in the background with a southern touch – WANTED is much similar to Gajini in approach and style. No compromise action is the success formula for both these films but they keep the entertainment value intact. One more reason to watch WANTED is Salman, who managed to create an impression in the film.

Radhe (Salman Khan) is a hardcore gangster who takes contracts to kill anybody for money. His famous quote is that, ‘Once he is committed, even he cannot stop himself from meeting the commitment’. Underworld gangs liberally use him to eliminate their opponents. Ghani Bhai(Prakash Raj) is an international Don, who operate the most powerful underworld gang in Mumbai. Knowing Radhe’s abilities Ghani’s gang takes Radhe to the gang but a defiant Radhe join on his own terms. In the midst of plenty of bloodshed, Radhe falls in love with a beautiful girl, Jhanvi (Ayesha Takia) whose family is been tortured by a police inspector. Radhe was not the Mr. Right Jhanvi was expecting. Still, Radhe was there in all her difficult situations. Love was blossoming. Then – in Jhanvi’s presence Radhe has to kill 10 or so gangsters and she is now more fearful of Radhe than the gangsters. Watch the movie to know the complete story.

This is a feather in the cap of director Prabhu Deva who did a wonderful job in WANTED. Yes, it is said to be a remake of Tamil hit ‘Pokkiri’ - then, even to direct a remake and bring it with the desired result it needs real skill and Prabhu Deva proves that he has it all. He uses the best of the actors, knowing their limitations. The technical crew too is been used wisely. The film engages the audience throughout. For that matter, the film was getting better in the second half. Dialogues of the film was good in most part (some were raw through) and it succeed in getting applauds from the audience. Screen play could have been better. Then, who want to risk a winning formula for some logic which audience doesn’t care? Good work by the director!

Salman Khan rocks big time! Yes, this is one of his best action movies and he is looking all fresh. There is enthusiasm and determination in his face and he even looks much younger! Ayesha Takia simply suite the role and she did complete justice to it. The 2008 National best actor award winner Prakash Raj (for Priyadarsan’s Kanchivaram) makes a great impact in the little space given to him. I wish he was there in the film to share more screen space. All others, the police, underworld gangs and family members – all did their respective roles convincingly. However, I felt Vinod Khanna needed a bit more space in the film where the character could have been better developed with a story to support.

Music of the film varies from average to good. Choreography by the master is a mix. At one hand the cast let down the choreographer, but for the fault from his side, lack of imagination made it a pretty ordinary event. At least one or two songs could have been deleted. Few of the songs and choreography were not matching to the mood of the situations.

Cinematography is top class. Full marks! Except for the length (which could have been trimmed for 15 to 20 minutes) editing is good. The director of action requires special mention. Good job!!

The film has some excellent moments lead by action scenes by Salman Khan. The love story between Radhe and Jhanvi is developed beautifully. All scenes involving Prakash Raj is superb (In fact the villain made the audience laugh but this was done by keeping the villain affect).

Screen play of the film could have been better. Motivation for the hero is very much missing in the film. While keeping the entertainment value intact, the director has availed an advance bail by saying you don’t ask ‘how’ in a masala action movie. Still then, there is limitation for human beings….but not for the filmy heroes! Too many of the songs was a hindrance for the story to proceed too.

Overall, WANTED is a mindless action movie which comes with a TOTAL PAISA VASOOL stamp for those who don’t mind watching masala films. The film has a dominating action track and a good romantic track. It is a definite entertainer. So, why not check it out by yourself?
