Now, many of us gets confused in choosing between this, i.e. WD Elements Portable or WD My Passport Ultra, with the price difference of about Rs.500-800.
The thumb rule is, go with WD Elements Portable if you're going to use it for dumping your data, which is the most probable use for many. WD My Passport Ultra is just the same piece with good to useless softwares provided along with, which includes cloud backup and encryption module.
And yes, WD Elements Portable is actually slim than the later one !

Apart from these, many buyers are complaining about getting less Warranty for their product and some of them even throws the idea of contacting the customer care of WD for the same, but trust me, it's just the waste of time.strong text
My advice to all potential buyers - once you receive the hdd, check the following -
Download and run WD Data_Lifeguard_Diagnostics software for your drive. The Quick Test should give some interesting results.
Put the drive under serious test - fill 90% of the drive in first 2/3 days without deleting the source data. Do not delete the source data.
Try connecting to multiple devices and OS if possible.
