Ok, For the first time, I am trying a new field in writing review - this time entering into the arena of Food Restaurants. Let's see whether I can explain it properly.
I am working in Indore, and as Indore and the whole Malwa region is famous for its wide variety of chatpati and masaaledaar dishes, I liked trying certain foods, for the change of taste. Last week, I tried this restaurant 3 times, because of its nearness to my office, change of taste from regular canteen, the quality of food, plus because of quantity of food served in "Thali". Just two or three minor hiccups are there, but rest is fine, so now let me tell you, why should anybody try that restaurant.
Why should I Try? - 1. The location - It is centrally located in the heart and the posh area of Indore, i.e. South Tukoganj. Many Malls (TI, and Central), offices, Shops, market is near. Plus Railway station and Bus stand is also at walkable distance (although I don't think, they will walk that distance, just to taste the food). But Yes, there are some 2-3 star hotels nearby, so the guests there can really test the taste.
2. Seating Arrangement - Seating arrangement is normal, nothing special, but many restaurants, didn't even get that straight!. Here if you're visiting at lunch time, will not get crowd, and can easily adjust to the seats (I haven't tried it at nights!)
3. The food quality and taste - Food is tasty, for sure. Not everybody likes every joints of Restaurants, since each person have their own taste buds, but I liked their food. Tasty, and can count on quality of food (Although, haven't checked their kitchens). No Drinks are served or allowed.
4. The Thali and variety - Well, many restaurants here in Indore provide Thali, and with unlimited amount, so did Vyanjan as well. It's thali contains a bowl of each - dry and wet vegetable, dal, Raita, Rice, Sweet, Smashed salad, plus one papad, and Butter Roti (If tawa roti is not there, they provide Butter Tandoori Roti). Then obviously you can ask for more.
5. Price- They have the decent prices in otherwise big businessman's Indore (mini Mumbai). Once I tried seperate Vegetable and Tanduri Roti, and easily within Budget. Good for a decent party for any ocassion. Normal thali is priced at Rs. 65 all inclusive. One more option is there in the form of special thali which is priced at Rs. 90, just one difference, it included a Paneer vegetable.
6. Service - Service is decent. they will never left you waiting for roti, food or water, once you started eating. But do not forgot to tell them well-in-time either if they have more guests to serve. The manager asks you after 2-3 roties, about more roties or rice.
Why Should I Avoid? 1. Oil Factor - Yes, here oil is present in the vegetables, and obviously eating oil will create health concerns. Food is tasty for sure, but vegetables are supplied with a pinch of extra oil, which can be prevented by them.
2. Ambience - Lighting is not proper, and it looks dark is the afternoon also.
3. Ventilation - Since it is covered fully, to be supported by AC, ventilation is not proper, and they didn;t switched on the AC as well, although hanging fans are running, but they should use ACs as well.
4. Uncomplimentary onions - Onion salad plate is not given as complimentary. You have to order it as a supplement for Rs. 15.
As 'Vyanjan' stands for 'Food' so it be. Try it once and check for yourself for the taste, obviously.
