NO - DO NOT GO FOR VOLTAS AC - POOR SERVICE

I bought a Voltas AC - 1.0 Ton Inverter 4 Star(BEE Rating 2018) 124VSZS Copper Split AC on TataCliq back in Mar 18, 2019 with an extended warranty(1+ 4) years for a peace of mind and for a brand value like TATA and more painful as I bought it for my mom in hometown.


The AC was working fine, until in peak winters Dec, 2019 - I placed a relocation - uninstall & installation request with Voltas via their CustCare wherein they made the relocation but charged a hefty 3000/- bucks for copper wiring etc. He made a testing and showed me it was fine. They came at night and did the installation in torch light to which they said they were comfortable.


It’s summers, n now in March, 2020 - right after 11 months of purchase when I ran the AC, I see there’s no cooling at all. I lodged a complaint - they visited & detected a gas leakage and asked me a 2100/- for repair initially. After 5–6 hours they revised it to 2700/- saying that it’s a high pressure 410 gas. Now, I told that my product is under WARRANTY - they said it’s not covered as there’s a “physical damage”. I told them I am unable to see and prove me there’s a physical damage - then comes the bizzare explanation - it’s an INTERNAL DAMAGE to the valve because of which gas leakage is there -


My question here is to all educated consumers - does an internal damage that is NOT visible to naked eye account to physical damage which would NOT be covered under WARRANTY? They come up with bizzare rebuttals like it was placed on the brick etc which apparently was placed by their own Voltas service exec while installation on the relocation request.


So, this is NOT over yet, there is worse - I get a threat from the service owner of Bhubaneswar that he’s a BIG GUNDA n LOCALITE where in I should not dare ESCALATE it when I showed my disappointment and warned him of his dubious extortion intentions from customer despite product is on warranty.


So, this is the kind of peace of mind, security - AFTER-SALES SERVICE given to customers by Voltas where a consumer “questions” a genuine query and wants to execute his right to what he has paid for - a product under warranty! They wish to sell cheap products that do not last long and wish to make good business via there after sales service by fixing defects created by them due to their inefficient mechanics. It’s a vicious circle.
