After completing 3 years on Tiguan Highline, I can accurately post a review. VW tiguan is a premium vehicle from VW and it can be said without any doubt, VW india has not evolved enough to deal VW premium cars. They are better off selling Polos as their dealers are not premium enough to handle premium cars. EVM in Kottayam do not have any trained staff as very few units of Tiguan and T rocs are sold here. My car, like hundreds of others, came to me with a manufacturing defect which was reported on the first day of taking delivery. On my third Service, they changed Haldex and I just hope the problem will be fixed. The vehicle is very poorly built as there is rattling sound everywhere and you cannot put music as the speakers will rattle the doors and the door handle, made of plastic, it self is 3 piece. So imagine the vibrations from the sound and you will hear jarring noise through out. Mileage is average with 8 km/ ltr and it is best when crusing over 60 km/hr - 90 km/hr. Once over 90, you do not feel secure with the vehicle. it is VW afterall, not BMW. only paid as much. So no complaints. 0 - 60, there is a lot of lag and it is not good for narrow kerala roads, you will be stuck behind an auto even. Maintanance cost is high, with expensive tyres woring out with in 20000km and battery lasting less than 14 months. Service cost is around 28k per year with thrid year going to 35 k. Tyres are expensive as much as 90k for 4 nos. Links and bushes are fragile and mine got broken in third year and I have not tested the vehicle off road even once. I completed 25000 km in three years and so far, 2 battery repalcements, 4 tyre replacements, 1 Link, 1 bush, numerous sensors were replaced. The vehicle has been in the dealer service centre for more than 60 days in total in these 3 years. I would advise all to spend a little bit more and buy a better vehicle. VW india still has a lot more to learn. They are adapting to India with prices and features and ends up giving low quality vehicles through cheap dealers with unequipped service centres.
