Finally got a chance to drive this car..
A friend of mine who is one of the first customers from Pune to own this car visited bangalore. Though I am not thrilled about driving cars. I got really excited to sit at the drivers seat of this car. The car was a comfortline diesel model.
As soon as you start the car you feel as if you are sitting in a Auto or a Tata Indica TDI..Too noisy engine.. VW should have gone for a 4 cylinder platfrom instead of 3 cylinder..However, once you start moving above the speed of 30 upto 80 kmsyou will feel as if you are in apetrol car. The acceleration is slower when compared to Swift diesel but you can easliy touch speeds upto 140 kms.. The steering is very soft when you are driving at slower speeds but gets to feel hard at higher speeds..Notquite sure why.. Haven't felt this in any cars I have driven with power steering. This feature makes you push the accelerator hard though...
Turning circle radius of the car may be a concern as I did find it difficultto take U turns in many placesin bangalore..Had to reverse the car.The car had clocked about 2100 kms and my friend said he got a mileage of about 19 kms mileage in the highway with 100% AC on..
Interiors: Everything perfectly placed plus the quality of the plastic used is great... You feel you are in a Luxury sedan..
Exteriors: You are the Judge.. Everyone has their own opinion..But truly paracticle design and people start staring at you when you are in the car..May be due to the Big VW logos and Lust white color..
The sadest part about VW: The waiting period for the car is about 5 months without any guarantee, that too we have to bare the additional cost for the car if prices go higher before delivery... It is quite difficult to get the test drive for the car....The demand too high than production. Though ihave heard people saying it is a costly car to own I am unable to understand why there is such a huge demand... After sales service will be a hugh concern though VW says the service interval is 15K kms for this car...
If you are an automobile enthusiastic, you will love to drive this car..
