I bought my VW polo 1.2 TDI in august 2014. I opted for the 1.2 since I was offered good discount as the new vw 1.5 was on cards and the 74 PS of 1.2 TDI is more than enough for indian roads.
1) Dealer Satisfaction: I bought it at Mody VW hyderabad
First thing I would like to mention in my review is that I am shocked seeing all the dealer related comments on the net.
I have experienced a 5 star dealer experience at VW show room(I really mean* 5 star show room cleanliness, attending customer, beverages, explanation by sales executive, test drive, documentation every thing are top notch). I have visited maruti, ford, hyundai dealerships prior to that. they are crap, it is just like a fish market at maruti.
I am amazed why people like maruti/hyundai/tata/mahindra dealerships and not VW which offers customer service on par with luxury brands like BMW or Benz.
2) Driving experience after 3 months. It is the best luxury hatchback in india. I have driven and tested all cars in india but this one blew me away. The build quality, handling, comfort, features are top notch & it will take 100 years for maruti to develop such a car. I20 is premium and good looking but will not match polo in plastic quality, Build quality & Handling,
3) mileage:
16 to 17 KMPL in city and 22 to 23 KMPL on highways
4) Servicing:
costs Rs-7000/year
Only 1 service is required per year and not 2 like maruti/hyundai/honda.
So its slightly expensive comapred to maruti/hyundai which will cost(5000 to 6500 since even maruti is using semi synthetic oil now a days) but cheaper than honda(which will cost 9000)
6) What I Dint Like:
- Back seat legroom is not enough for 6 footer.
Verdict:
The best premium hatch in india and miles ahead of swift/i20. If you are a car lover you will love this beauty.
