What a car!!!!!!. Review on Volkswagen Polo

I am back with another review in Mouthshut on this amazing piece of machine I had test driven today. I have been to Hyundai - test drove I20 and Accent ...accent was decent enough but lagged the pick up and the seating was pretty low compared to i20.It comes only with basic features of power windows, power steering, and only speaker connecting facilities - no airbags,abs and other good features...still some of my friends using the accent cng claim the vehicle to be excellent and satisfactory though mileage is around 10-11 kmpl.

I20 had better power steering than accent which had a tighter one making it little uncomfortable to manouver....the i20 which I test drove was driven only for 12k kms and only pros in the vehicle are steering,suspension,boot space and decent leg room at the rear..other wise the worst part of the car was the AC...hyundai should be ashamed to have such a degraded quality of ac installed in the sexy looking car.

Then I spotted the Polo on my way home and wanted to give a try. Immediately I was assisted by the sales staff and in a few mins I was in the high end model of the polo 1.2 ltr petrol version.

Guys, am sure you wont believe this...while I was about to sit in the car and touch the key to start the car the driver who parked the vehicle outside for me warned me not to touch the key as the engine is already running...I thought "What crap???" and to test him, I pressed the accelarator and was stunned to see the engine roaring sound...I couldnt believe I was seated in the already engine running car...That gave me the most important clue on the quality of this amazing piece of metal..

Secondly, the heavy doors,very good quality interiors.The car was fitted a navigation system which added to the beauty of the vehicle. When I shut the doors, the cabin was so silent and the company staff switched on the AC....in just under a minute the car was completely chill without a noise of the blower..I increased the blower speed to 4 and trust me, you feel the presence of a big air cooler in front of you...so powerful was the throw that I started falling in love slowly with this car..

Now the moment to test the engine...the power steering....the best part of the car to play with....I felt like a kid who would play with small round objects immitating the driving action...the steering felt noway connect to the vehicle...such was the ease of using the steering that you could 100000%%% surely rotate with a single finger....the horn was excellent....very rich and similar to that of skoda and benz models...

The suspension was very good though didnt get a chance to fully test it in bad roads..soon I was playing with this machine cornering around the streets and main roads.

The salesman informed the mileage would be around 13-14 kmpl for sure in petrol version and around 16 in diesel version....The waiting time for the car was around 4 months which immediately disappointed me..For no other vehicle I have enquired the cost of the car during the test drive.

And after the test drive was over , I have stepped out of the car with no heart to leave this beauty( but I had to:(.. )..Then I checked the rear leg room of the car which was much better than all the hatchbacks and I felt very comfortable at the back with the driver seat adjusted to fit my height of 6 ft....The interiors were unique including the display which was in red color with white illumination on other switches...

The boot of the vehicle can be opened by lifting the Volkswagen logo on the rear exterior of the vehicle and what you find inside is a huge space to comfortably fit 5 big suitcases for sure with additional small bags...

The highest version of the car alone has the features like ABS and Airbags, fog lamps and rear wiper while other two initial versions come with most commonly required features.I was also informed that when the Airbag is activated during an accident, it would cost around 40k per airbag to refill the gas in the airbag and to keep it back in shape.This definitely made me rethink if its worth that amount to invest in though it may be helpful in preventing injuries.

I also drove the 1.2ltr diesel version and couldnt decide on which was the best due to huge traffic and slow movements.

There are totally 6 colors in the car and I may have better look again when I view them in pure daylight.

Overall I was so excited (as if I fell in love with a beautiful gal at the first sight) after the test drive experience and I shared the experience with my family members...definitely this vehicle would be my choice against options such as Ritz,i20,swift,wagonR and accent.

So dont waste time after reading this review and visit your nearest showroom immediately.
