Taking money for nothing is called begging or stealing. And that's what telecom companies often do. Vodafone has perfected their dacoit skills so well that they have become arrogant. They think they can get away with frequent stealing.

I keep paying for 3G data speed and, often I have observed, I get hybrid(H) speed for a few days and then I start getting gprs speed. I keep writing and calling the customer care till the validity of service expires. And then end of matter: Vodafone walks away with my money and I cannot do a thing about it.

Actually they know that I did a big recharge at one go and I keep using data packs from the balance. Plenty of the balance is left. So they're doing exactly what the unduly rich do.

Long time back too when I had a vodafone postpaid number, I found out they were fudging bills big time. This one time I had high usage and high bill. I paid the bill. Then I was back to my usual low usage but the next three bills were roughly around the high bill amount. Once they know you have paying capacity and will honestly pay a big bill, they think your money is their dad ka paisa.

I realized they were fudging and started switching off my phone with battery out, sim out for 4-5 days at a stretch. In those days, one had to pay Rs 75 to get a detailed bill. Their detailed bill listed usage on days my sim was out of the phone! I called them to tell them that. They told me I have used but I don't remember. I started using the number only once a week. Their next bill had the same high bill amount but this bill mentioned not only false usage but also addition error. The total bill amount was way more than the total addition. There! I caught them with proof. I called them. 4-5 people spoke to me and after plenty of denial and distraction, they told me they will not charge me the excess amount as a goodwill gesture to me(!) only because I have been a long term customer.

I am so happy the tax guys are getting them. To the tax officers and the government of India: don't let them get away with this. It's your job not to let them get away with stealing and cheating the people and public exchequer of India.

They are not just tax thieves, they have defrauded and cheated the people of India directly(customers) and indirectly(tax), in every way they could.

This has been going on for too long. This robbery must end. NOW.

Vodafone go back.
