*I was using Airtel Mobile for a long time. When I returned from USA last September, I brought Motorola Moto Q 9h mobile phone (Unlocked) with 'Blackberry' facilities.

When I approached Airtel they said that they can activate Blackberry connection only if I buy a new Blackberry phone with them...same with other mobile services also.

I visited a Vodafone store near my area which had a big sign "Happy to Help You" at the door. I showed my phone and they immediately did all the formalities and activated my new 'fancy' number within 2 hours. I had no choice other than to choose Rs.899/- unlimited plan - free unlimited browsing and 10 e-mail configuration.

As I was out of India for more than 6 months, I went for south tour to visit my relatives including the Hill Station Kodaikanal. The signal strength was good all over and their technical support was really good except it takes long time to get the officer (listening to all their advertisements and music!). During first week of March Vodafone advertised Rs.299/- unlimited plan for receiving and sending 10 E-mail accounts, Google talk, Yahoo Messenger and Blackberry Messenger! But no browsing facility.

Its okay for me as I have my Laptop with wireless data card and high speed Broadband WiFi connection at home. I immediately applied for plan change. But Vodafone store said that they will change the plan from the next billing cycle. At the same time Vodafone Blackberry department said that this plan is only for the new connection only and not for existing connection....that means I have to deactivate my present account and get a fresh connection with a new number....

Again informing about 300 contacts about the change in my mobile number. I tried arguing saying how can they neglect the old, sincere post-paid customers and give the new low charge benefits to the new customer. As it was taking time and no solution could be found and as I do not want unnecessarily pay extra Rs. 600/- per month, I told them about 2 days back to deactivate my account and refund my deposit immediately.

Today when I was about to go to Airtel and get the same (Rs.299/- unlimited) plan I got a call from Vodafone saying that within 2 hours they will change the plan!....and they did it!!! Though they say "Happy to Help You" we have to fight to get the things done!!*
