Recently, due to relocation, I went to Dwarka, New Delhi Vodofone Relationship Centre and asked them to close my account. Since I was a 5 year old premium customer(as claimed by the Officer), the officer advised me to pay the complete amount till date there and put me on INTER CIRCLE MIGRATION plan. She confirmed to me that under ICM plan, I will get the same last 5 digits in Hyderabad, same credit limit of 5000 and will continue as a premium customer. She told me that there will be no charges like monthly rental, CLIP, itemized billing or anything else other than ACTUAL CALL CHARGES if any. Also, she mentioned the number will be deactivated automatically in a week's time and I need not worry about it.
When I reached HYDERABAD, the local Customer Service officers mentioned that there is no such scheme called ICM and they cannot do anything. After some time, I get a new bill with all the regular monthly charges like rental, itemized billing, CLIP for the current period and advance period as well, apart from the call charges. Several calls and emails to Vodofone - standard response, these are standard charges and you need to pay.
If you have to mess up and renege on all your commitments, why did you recommend ICM. I would have closed my account on the spot on Jan 6. which is what I wanted from the Delhi Customer Care officer when I met her in person.
What is the need to harass a long time customer like me?
Please do not get trapped into such baits from VODAFONE.
