I have a Hutch prepaid connection for the past 6-7 years. Till there was a charge of Rs 50/ on activation of roaming on prepaid card there was a never a problem with the activation of roaming while I was visiting outside Delhi.
However, since TRAI introduced the scheme of no roaming activation charges, Hutch's customer care ( oops...... torture) centre has had a problem. Whether you dial 140 or 9811098110, after the initial greeting " Welcome to Hutch care, you may chose from the following options followed by a list of pre-recorded options", a Hutch customer is never allowed **to make a choice of service that is required.
*None of the keys pressed is ever registered. U can't even talk to the customer care executive ( Available hoga to milega). the pre-recorded message runs 3 times and then the call is disconnected without any results.
Unlike other service providers like Airtel and Idea chitchat, roaming is not automatically activated on the Hutch prepaid mobile phones. So anyone taking a Hutch prepaid connection should be careful that they don't have to go on any outstation tours becozroaming is never active on a Hutch prepaid connection.
