I am a small employee who was in utter chaos due to US market but also due to phone. Belive it! I was in B'lore doing my job and was later relocated to Chennai for a new project purpose. I was quite senti towards Airtel from start.
Better coverage area, better signal and BPO's response. All this came to halt when I came to Chennai. My monthly prepaid bill was around Rs1, 200-2, 000 in B'lore. By this, I opted for postpaid. Belive me, it was utter chaos.
When I took my SIM and the agent(who was not able to talk in English) said, "Sir, ee signal superaaa sir........". I relaized that, they'll m\not make any changes in the Credit Limit. We have to pay amount every time when we cross credit limit. And they'll ask for a initial deposit of Rs500/- which they say is refundable. But commerce has chaneges in Chennai, as on;y Rs300 of amount paid is refundable. An OMG moment.
I thought it is Chennai.As I was in office guest house, I gave address of my friend for AV. Somehow, they figured and said I don't live in the location and arranged for second verification. Following day I woke up seeing signal in my mobile. Here comes the funny part of the story. I went to Customer Care Center in Saidapet.
Poeple in CCC are, slum kids(please worry, after Slumdog Millionaire, Airtel local office is having more concerns for them than customer), one body builder, two Helpdesk employees who literally know no-English. All they say is, Vanakam and Nandri., one improper french-beard guy(to horror, the head of branch), and few others.
I spoke to the builder who said he'll escalate the issue. But he escalated my anger and annoyance. I was sitting alone when people from various companies, that to MNC's came and talked about the billing issues. The response was same. "Sir Pay the bill. We'll get back to you".
Finally, I went to the desk forcebilly and argued. Spoke like come what may pay the bill. I abused them and got of the place for some rest.
Man..........really what a blood suckers. If they need money they can borrow or steal but they decive people.
Later when I was home, I saw my latest montlhy bill from Airtel. The Airtel guy from our office some how got my address and sent the bill.
I hope all of you mighthave felt the frustration. But belive me, I missed few interview as my resume had the previous number and an onsite chance too.
Finally I took Vodafone, by seeing some Zoo-Zoo. And man, this is an awesome thing. I spoke for 11 hours out of which 8 were STD, I got bill for Rs374/- inclusive of taxes. This guy doesb't annoyme a lot, as the executives are at least some diploma holders with some professionalism.
If you're or ever come to Chennai, do make a point to visit beaches, some malls, or multiplex and also include Saidapet Airtel Circus for some items and brain-less creatures.
