Stay away from these Vodafone guys. Read my story and you’ll be shocked and it’s true. Can attach my emails with this company I had for proof.
I lived in Bombay for few years and I was using Vodafone there. Got transferred to Bangalore and during my relocation I wanted a local number. Since I’ve used Vodafone before it was natural for me to go for the, once again. As all the mobile service providers in india are the same, but at least I taught since Vodafone is an international player, they might be a step ahead.
Went to one of the mini stores and asked for a post paid connection and after completing the formalities I was handed a sim and was advised it will be activated with 24 hours.
Almost a week the number did not get activated, spoke to them again and I was informed it will be done by evening.
3 days later sim is still not active, this time I went to the Vodafone store and they informed me to ignore this sim and they gave me another number, which got activated within few hours.
After a month or 2 I get the bill for the unused number of some 1200 rupees. Called Customer Care, informed the situation and denied to pay.
Again after a week I started getting calls from Vodafone to pay the bills. Then I visited the manager at the store to discuss it further.
To my shock he informs me that I requested for a duplicate sim, and hence the sim never got activated and they replaced my sim with the same number.
I told them I never requested for the same and asked for proof, luckily the unused sim was still laying in my wallet. The manager denied to show me the proof.
After trying hard and getting no satisfactory answers from senior Vodafone officers. I approached the police.
Me along with the police met the Vodafone store manager at the bangalore Koramangala store and then he showed me the duplicate sim request form, the form as expected was tampered and forged.
So guys this is Vodafone, I did not ask for the compensation for compromising with my identity and document, all I did was I made a promise to myself never again with Vodafone not will I let anyone I love use Vodafone. Which I’m still sticking to it proudly.
Vodafone. If you are reading this please give me an explanation if you have one. Else please stop doing this now.
