As I don't write many reviews, I will come straight to the point. This movie is a disaster. It lacks a decent story (actually it lacks a story altogether), is EXTREMELY slow paced and it is grossly unbelievable. It ranks up there with alltime bad movies like Kisna where you almost tear your hair out (or if you haven't spent too much money on the ticket, you simply walk out)

So now that we have these things cleared up, let us come to story (or the lack thereoff). The story is basically of a girl from a small town where they speak shudh hindi (Amrita Rao a whole lot of jal in this movie) getting engaged to a guy from a very rich business family in Delhi. It suppoedly tells the story between the engagement and the wedding.

It is a typical Rajshri movie where all characters are sugar sweet and there are no shades of grey in any character.

Now for the problems with the plot:

  1. Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao meet once for 5 minutes and say yes to get married, despite the fact that Shahid is a really modern guy.

  2. They fall in love because they are engaged, despite not having spent any time with each other.

  3. The movie is painfully slow and the songs are pretty much all forced and seem to make the movie stretch even more.

  4. The shudh hindi seems artificial. I am myself from a small town but they are not really like that. I mean comeon, who calls water jal at home?

Overall I did like Amrita Rao and Shahid Kapoor in the movie but the lack of story line and badly defined characters do them in.

The song mujhe haq hai seems to repeat over and over again. Just to give you an idea, by the end of the movie I was singing "Mujhe haq hai ki main is screen ko jala doon for screening such a pathetic movie."So guys and gals, if you love your hair and don't fancy tearing them out, avoid this movie.
